Conduit Gallery is honored to present Space Hotel, a series of paintings by Jordan Bruner. This is the first exhibition in Texas of Bruner’s work.
Space Hotel is set in an imagined future that reflects on unease and disconnection. Set against a cosmic backdrop, the paintings depict moments of leisure, dining, and beach-going, ordinary rituals recast at an imagined resort, where connection feels possible but never quite settles. Painted in oil on canvas and wood panel, the work uses saturated color and flattened space to build scenes that feel inviting at first glance and reveal something stranger beneath the surface.
Jordan Bruner is an artist and filmmaker whose work spans painting and animation. Her subjects, women, animals, imagined places, carry a mix of joy, tension, and humor, built through color and composition into worlds that draw you in before they unsettle you. The Space Hotel series was exhibited at Amuse at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (February through August 2026). Bruner’s work was included in the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art’s 2025 Biennial and her animation work was featured in the museum’s group show Seamless April through August, 2026. Bruner is a recipient of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Visual Arts Fellowship in Painting for 2026-2027. She earned her BFA in Kinetic Imaging from Virginia Commonwealth University and lives and works in Richmond, Virginia.
