Felix Benton: What Grows Sideways
about exhibition
Presented by Site Service.
In this presentation, Felix plants x and cultivates y. The paintings’ flatness lets the composition slide back and forth between foreground and background. An underlying tension draws you into the underpainting as it surfaces, then pulls you back out to the final image. These are works that never sit still — they succeed almost against their own logic. Paintings that seem built to spread outward instead reach upward. In the garden of x and y, the real harvest may turn out to be z.
