RAINRAIN

RAINRAIN was founded in Chengdu in 2011 and established its new chapter in New York in 2023. Founded by Rain Lu, RAINRAIN was originally established as L-Art Gallery in Chengdu, where it worked closely with emerging and mid-career artists from 2011 to 2017, supporting experimental practices and introducing new artistic voices to wider audiences. After relocating to New York, RAINRAIN rebranded in 2022 and resumed its activities through online exhibitions and projects before opening its physical space in Downtown Manhattan in 2023. As an independent contemporary art gallery, RAINRAIN is dedicated to developing thoughtful exhibitions and long-term relationships with artists whose practices engage with material exploration, cultural histories, and contemporary experiences. With a focus on diasporic perspectives and cross-cultural dialogue, the gallery presents diverse artistic voices and fosters meaningful conversations between artists, audiences, and communities.
