Vladislav Markov: OBJECTS IN MIRROR MAY BE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR
about exhibition
Vladislav Markov’s second solo exhibition at the gallery.
Press Release
Management is pleased to present OBJECTS IN THE MIRROR MAY BE CLOSER THAN THEY APPEAR, the second solo exhibition of New York-based Vladislav Markov at the gallery. Markov will create an environment reminiscent of a seedy strip club that viewers will be able to observe from within a black box behind a one-way mirror wall, not unlike that of a monitoring room in an interrogation context. The performers in the space are amputees Markov contracted online, for whom he has created custom prosthetics for the duration of the exhibition. A 3-hour-long soundtrack will accompany the exhibition, its content drawing on the tradition of world-specific entertainment radio for various video games like the Grand Theft Auto series.
A text by Nicolas Bourriaud will accompany the exhibition.
